This Privacy Policy explains how Visa Tools (“we,” “us,” or “the site”) on visa.toolspopper.com — a ToolsPopper project — collects, uses, stores, and shares information. It applies to visitors in the United States and abroad who use our free H-1B and immigration tools.
We built these tools so eligibility logic and cost math run in your browser. That choice is part of our privacy design: your case facts should not need to leave your device for a checker to work.
1. Who we are
Visa Tools is operated as part of the ToolsPopper family of utility sites (including ustax.toolspopper.com). For privacy requests, email info@toolspopper.com. Our public contact page is /contact/.
2. Calculator and checker inputs (client-side processing)
When you use tools such as the H-1B $100K fee checker, total-cost calculator, grace-period tracker, lottery-odds explainer, or priority-date tracker, you select answers (radio buttons, dropdowns, dates, wage levels, country/category choices, and similar structured inputs).
- What happens to those inputs: They are processed on your device in the browser. We do not operate a server that receives your immigration answers for scoring, storage, or automated “AI analysis.”
- What we do not collect from the tools: We do not ask for your full legal name, passport number, A-number, SSN, employer EIN, or petition receipt number inside the calculators.
- Local storage: Some tools may optionally remember a preference or last selection in
localStorageon your device (for convenience). That data stays on your device until you clear site data. Theme preference is stored under the keyvisa-theme. - URLs: If a future tool encodes non-sensitive selections in the query string so you can share a link, those values may appear in browser history, referrer logs, or shared URLs. Prefer not to paste case-specific URLs into public forums.
If we ever add a server-side feature that transmits tool inputs (for example, an optional “email me this result” feature), we will update this policy before launch and describe exactly what is sent.
3. Information we may collect automatically
- Server / CDN / hosting logs: Our host and content-delivery network may record IP address, user-agent, request URL, referrer, timestamp, and similar connection metadata for security, abuse prevention, debugging, and capacity planning. Retention follows the host’s defaults (often on the order of days to weeks, not permanent case files).
- Analytics (when enabled): If we configure Google Analytics 4 (or a similar measurement product) on this property, we may receive aggregated usage data such as pages viewed, approximate geo region, device category, session duration, and traffic source. Analytics is for understanding which tools people use — not for building immigration case dossiers.
- Contact messages: If you email us or submit a contact form, we receive the address and message content you choose to send so we can reply.
4. Advertising — Google AdSense and related cookies
Visa Tools may display ads through Google AdSense when a publisher client ID is configured (PUBLIC_ADSENSE / ca-pub-…). Ad placements are labeled “Advertisement.” Ads do not change checker outcomes.
When AdSense is active, Google and its partners may set or read cookies and use similar technologies to:
- deliver and measure ads;
- limit how often you see the same creative (frequency capping);
- detect invalid traffic / fraud;
- where permitted, personalize ads based on browsing activity.
Cookie / storage names commonly associated with Google advertising include (non-exhaustive; Google may change identifiers): IDE, DSID, __gads, __gpi, NID, and DoubleClick-related cookies on .doubleclick.net / Google domains. Exact sets vary by browser, region, and consent status.
You can manage personalized Google ads at adssettings.google.com. Industry opt-outs: youradchoices.com and optout.networkadvertising.org. Blocking third-party cookies in your browser may reduce ad personalization (and sometimes ad relevance).

6. How we use information
- To operate and secure the site (logs, rate limiting, incident response).
- To understand aggregate product usage and improve content (analytics, when enabled).
- To show and measure advertising (AdSense, when enabled).
- To respond when you contact us.
We do not sell your calculator answers as a dataset. We do not use tool inputs to train a generative AI model. Every checker on this site follows fixed published rules — not AI-generated answers.
7. Legal bases and regional notes (EEA/UK visitors)
If you access the site from the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, applicable law may treat certain processing as requiring a lawful basis (for example, legitimate interests for security logs and site operation; consent for non-essential advertising/analytics cookies where required). Where a future on-site consent banner / Consent Mode configuration is shipped, that UI will control non-essential tags. Until then, use browser controls and the Google ad settings links above. You may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and data portability under GDPR-style frameworks — contact us at the email below to exercise them for information we actually hold (typically contact emails and server logs, not browser-local calculator state we never received).
8. California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, California residents may have the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion or correction, opt out of “sale” or “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising, and not be discriminated against for exercising those rights.
Categories we may process: identifiers (IP in logs; email if you write us); internet / network activity (pages, device type via analytics or ads); and inferences used by ad partners when personalized ads are on. We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information through immigration calculators.
Serving personalized ads via AdSense can constitute “sharing” under CPRA. Opting out via Google ad settings or blocking ad cookies is a practical opt-out for that advertising use. To request access or deletion of information we hold from email contact or account-free correspondence, write to info@toolspopper.com with “Privacy Request” in the subject line.
9. Other US state privacy laws
Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and other states with comprehensive privacy statutes may have similar rights (access, deletion, correction, opt-out of targeted advertising). Use the same contact email. We will respond within the timelines those laws require to the extent they apply to us as a small informational publisher.
10. Data retention
- Tool inputs on your device: until you clear site storage; we do not retain a server copy because we do not receive them.
- Edge/server logs: host defaults (commonly weeks).
- Analytics / AdSense: provider retention settings and policies.
- Email correspondence: retained as long as needed to resolve your request and for ordinary business records (typically up to 24 months unless a longer legal hold applies).
11. Children (COPPA)
Visa Tools is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child submitted information via email, contact us and we will delete it.
12. International transfers
Hosting, analytics, and advertising providers may process data in the United States or other countries. Calculator answers that never leave your browser are not transferred by us.
13. Security
We use HTTPS and standard hosting protections. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Do not email passport scans or full case files to our general inbox unless we specifically request documents for a support reason (we usually will not).
14. Changes
We may update this policy when tools, hosting, advertising, or law change. The “Last updated” date at the top shows the latest revision. Material advertising or analytics changes will be reflected here and, where required, in a consent UI.
